The agreement between you and Corido Marketplace Ltd when you use the platform. By creating an account you accept these terms.
Corido connects buyers and sellers of pre-owned goods in Kenya. Corido is not the seller of listed items; sellers are responsible for their listings’ accuracy and legality.
Corido does not currently process payments. Buyers and sellers arrange payment directly, in person — pays in person, with no Corido protection. Because the money never passes through Corido, there is nothing for us to hold, nothing for us to return, and no transaction for us to rule on. Inspect the item fully before you hand over cash.
Corido's charges work in four parts, and there is nothing outside them. Listing: you pay only to list beyond your free allowance — an extra listing, an item above the free value limit, or a category that always requires a paid listing. You are paying for the space to list, never for selling. Selling it yourself: if you listed the item yourself and sold it yourself, Corido takes nothing from the sale. Buyer protection: a buyer who chooses to pay through Secure Pay pays a protection fee for having the money held until they confirm the item — today Corido does not process payments at all, buyers and sellers arrange payment directly, in person, so there is no buyer protection fee to pay. Managed selling: if you ask Corido to sell an item for you, you pay a commission on the price the item actually sells for, subject to a minimum charge, because Corido is doing the selling work. Managed selling is always a separate written agreement, in one of two forms. Under Agency the item stays with you and Corido does the selling work. Under Consignment you hand the item over to a Corido Space, where we take it in, inspect it, store it, display it and sell it for you — so alongside commission, Consignment can carry charges for handling your item physically, such as collecting it from you, the spot it occupies while it is with us, moving it between branches, or an optional upgrade you choose. Every rate and every charge is named and agreed with you in writing before we take your item on, and none of them change afterwards. Anything else a buyer chooses — delivery, packaging, cleaning — is charged as its own named line, never as a general fee. Where a charge applies to you, you will always see the amount first: on screen before you publish a listing, and before you pay. Corido charges nothing you have not agreed to, and this page is updated before any new charge starts.
No counterfeit goods, stolen property, weapons, or items whose sale is restricted under Kenyan law. Violations lead to listing removal and possible account suspension.
Because payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller, Corido holds no funds and cannot reverse or mediate a completed deal. You can still report a listing, a message or a seller to us and we will investigate the account — but the money itself is outside our control.
Corido provides the platform “as is”. We verify seller identity, we do not inspect or warrant the items listed, and we hold no funds — so Corido is not a party to your transaction and cannot compensate for it. Satisfy yourself about the item and the person before you pay.
